Hello. I want to open this by saying that I am not a jerk looking to buy a Bird and then sell it on Ebay or some such nonsense... I have read enough posts to see that that has happened here before. I think that is about as low down as you can get. I know its business, but it makes it hard for a guy like me to earn a sellers trust. I plan to keep the FB I find and fix up forever or at least till I die then leave it to the wife or kids.
I am looking to buy a 1967 - 69 Firebird Convertible in need of some or a lot of TLC. I am looking for this car as a project to rebuild and I do not want and cannot afford to buy a show car. My only real requirements are that is a 1967-69 Pontiac Firebird Convertible with a clean title, clean and strait body, no wrecks or damaged/repaired frames and only very minimal amounts of rust on the body or frame. I am NOT looking for one that has already been "Completely Restored". I am looking forward to the project and do not want to undo the hard work of someone else just to make it the way/color, whatever I want it to be. It does not even necessarily need to have an engine or transmission, however this would of course need to be reflected in the asking price. My budget for purchase depends on the vehicle, its condition and how I feel about the car, how far I have to go to get it, etc. I am not rich and cannot afford a ton of money, however If we can come to an agreement on price I can have cash available reasonably quickly. For my safety I will not come to your house with a bunch of cash in my pocket, we will have to meet somewhere like the DMV to do the sale and paperwork at least in their parking lot or something. I am not sure what is the best way and if anyone has any recommendations for how to handle the sale they would be greatly appreciated. If you are OK with a check (personal, certified, whatever) or Paypal then I do not think I mind doing the transaction wherever. Thank you for your time reading this post and please contact me at you earliest convenience.
WTB: 1967 - 69 Firebird Convertible
MUST HAVES: - Yes it must be a convertible. - Must have a Clean title. - No issues with transferring the title to me. - No issues with registering it. - Reasonably clean body. - No major frame repair or rust damage. - No major body rust. - Needs some kind of working wheels and tires so I can at least get it on a Uhaul trailer to get it home.
My Craigslist post got flagged.... I will never understand why they don't use mods rather than just letting users run a muck and flag you just cause they feel like it....
