I am slowly piecing parts together for my restoration. My wheels are just sitting in boxes unrestored. I would like to send them out and have them restored so they are ready when I want them,
Where should I send them to get refinished?
Restored by me. Not a professional. Restaurant worker by trade. YouTube forums and some trial and error built this beauty. Sheet metal replacement. Body work. Paint. Rear gears. Interior. And engine. ALL ME. Toot toot
May have to do some searching to find a body shop that would do the work for you. Its labor intensive to mask them all off. Eastwood makes a stencil kit but I think you would have better results with masking them yourself.
IMO the best way to go is first have the rims soda blasted . Then take them to a painter to have them primered and put down the silver paint. Then mask them all yourself and bring them back to have the charcoal gray painted.
Many have done the whole job them self with eastwood painst and a plastic garbage can to dip the rims in for striping.
If you are ever down by Cincinnati, I would drop them off at CW Restorations (cwrestorations.com). He's done a couple of sets for me.

I am investing in a soda blaster and wondering if, since i'm set up with a paint booth in garage, if doing myself is worth the hassle.
Did a few sets myself back in the early 2000's and wasn't too fond of the masking process...but then again, I was a short fused, easily tempered, gotta have it now type of dude... May want to give it a try again.
