455/6x-8 heads, Torker 2, 750 Holley vac, CC 292 Magnum cam, 1.52 CC roller tip rockers, FlowKooler, Summit mini, includes everything that was on it, in the car except for the RobbMc 1100hp fuel pump.
Engine has forged rods/pistons, & was built by a well respected, long time member of the PY forum. Has not been to the track, Only made a few blasts down a country road. Only needs a smaller cam to be a good pump gas street engine.
That $3500 price includes shipping to the lower 48.
Will part out.

The short tail TH400, which was built by a local, long time Pontiac racer, who has his own trans shop. -- $800 + shipping. Dipstick tube seal leaks. So it needs a replacement end, which uses the top hat type seal, or a FitzAll replacement tube & stick.
Also have a long tail TH400, which came out of my '74 Ventura bracket car. The car ran 7.30's on the 1/8 local track. -- $500 + shipping
I also still have the 455 engine, out of that car, for sale, as well as other engine parts.
Some say that shipping for these heavier parts, thru Fastenal, from one store to another, is very reasonable, if the parts are securely fastened to a good pallet.
It's a 485428 block, forged rods & pistons (I assume they're the 5140 rods, with SP L2359NF pistons, but I have not opened it up to check)
The guy I bought the car from said it had a Lunati cam, but didn't know any specs.
It has #215 heads, with M/T valve covers. I've never had the covers off. So I don't know if it has screw-in studs or not, or roller tip rockers or not.
It has a deep sump pan.
No intake, carb, or dist. I put those on the other 455.
The engine was in a '74 Ventura bracket car I bought. I ran it in 2008. It ran 7.30's on our local 1/8 mile track. 60' times 1.60's. Bought another car, a 2-car trailer and a Ford 7.3D CC truck. Took me all the '09 season to get all that together. Was ready to race 2 cars for the 2010 season. Our local track never opened that year.
So, I sold the truck, trailer, and the other car. Kept the Ventura. Cranked it occasionally, thru most of 2011. Sold the roller. Kept the engine/trans/converter. So, the engine hasn't been cranked since 2011. It's not locked up. And I recently poured some MMO & fogging oil into the cylinders.
For serious buyers, I can open it up & take pics. I'm considering building some sort of test stand on which I can run both engines. And, I have a mid '80's wagon I'd like to put one of these in. But, they're both for sale. Also have some 6X heads and a new Chinese single plane intake, which will work for a street or street/strip app. I don't know if the cam is too much for the street or not. It idled better than the CC 292 Magnum that's in the other engine.
Well, I was gonna edit & add more. But, I can't scroll down to the bottom of the post. So, I'll make another post.
Obviously the #215 heads will produce too much compression for pump gas. Would need Torco Accelerator octane booster, mix in some race gas, or run E-85. They might make decent heads for a good 400 build, using small dish pistons.
For a price, I figure a good 455 block is worth $600, 5140 RPM rods are $300, SP forged pistons are just over $300, the cam/lifters have to be worth at least $100, even if you have to sell 'em, The deep pan is worth at least $100, then you have the crank, balancer, timing cover, oil pump, bearings, rings, etc. Would cost at least $3k to build the short block. So, I'll price it at 1/2 that. Short block price = $1500. And, I'll even pay shipping up to $200. Anything over you pay, anything less I'll refund. Or, if you live close enuff to North Louisiana to pick it up, I'll knock off the $200, making the total price $1300. Will leave the heads on it for $300 more. Or, will include some 6x-8 cores for $200 more, and the new Chinese single plane for $100 more.
Hey, if you can find a better deal, buy it. I could use the money, but if it don't sell, I'll either eventually use it, swap it, or give it to a friend.
