I have not been able to find a good working clutch return spring. The one that Ames Performance has is 3.5" long and gets stretched more the double to connect. Then wears out in very little time and not pulling the clutch peddle fully back.
I found a correct GM Spring part number 3899021 and I thought if I could get the correct length of the rod, I could make one from the readily available 6 cyl extension rod you see in the photo. I may have to dummy up a rod from heavy wire and keep adjusting it until I get the proper return I need and then make it from that length.
Harold, If you want I can try to get a pic of mine- been awhile since I looked at that.

If you still have that part it may be good to verify it. I purchased a wire bender to make the bends nicer. I hope to make a few of them in case some others need one.
Yes it does first time I have seen one.. I guess it put some distance from the spring and the fork so you don't get the twang noise from the spring every time you push the clutch in. I found that out when I did the four speed conversion a few years ago. I made my own extension got rid of that noise..

I got the wire bender and the straight Nova extension rod in today. I was able to make 4 pcs from the straight rod. I think I got the shape real close and the fit works great too. I think these will work good. Waiting on a new spring still to see how the final fit is.
