I had intended to make this a driver a several years back, but I never did finish. I didn't care about the title 'cause no one sees the title when you're drivin' down the road, and it allowed me some freedom, as well as an entry point lower than a survivor. I was getting close to where I could start driving it around, but as life is want to do, it changed, and I could no longer spend time on the Firebird.
The 400 was rebuilt at a local machine shop, as well as the 350 trans at a local transmission shop. I installed a suspension kit ( I think it was called G force?) leafs, coils, shocks, etc. also power disc brakes front. all new lines for fuel, brakes, rebuilt steering box (I remember it's the one you want), longbranch repos, powder coated subframe, re-cored Radiator, lots of other parts and pieces/extra stuff. I have the 14' rally wheels w/bf goods on 'em that came with car(they have been repainted poorly), as well as the 15' rally's that accommodate the disc brake conversion - the 15's were media blasted, and are in primer. Currently has Chevy Rally wheels on rear(BF goods/with caps) stock rims on front. If you can do body work, this may be the ride/investment for you - It had drivers QP replaced, and as the photos show it is bubbling between the trunk lid, and the top, also a very small amount.where it meets the door jamb. there is also a rust hole on drivers rocker, photoed. Paint appears to have been applied by a beginner, it looks great at night, or 15 feet away. I have really tried to photograph, and describe all the worst things, as to not waste anyone's time.- Located in Southern Oregon.
e-mail me and I can send you specific photos, and/or answer questions.
Sorry to see your selling her Kevin. Been a long time... I've checked a few times to see if you had posted anything and didn't find any posts from you, but have wondered how you were doing. Hope you and the family are doing well over all... other than selling the bird.
Hope it all works out ok for you, take care - Brett!
