I imagine this has come up before. I bought the new inner fender splash shields that come with staples. How do you remove the old staples and how do you attach those new shields with the staples? Any advice would be appreciated.
I bought those too...but staples that came with them were not heavy enough, and not correct size for the holes...I did pry off the old ones, re used those....using , a screwdriver as mentioned abv...but installing the new was a pain as arms wont reach around (if fenders are on the car)...I had my son hold a hammer under the staples on one side , while I bent them in place from other side...to me it seemed like a two person job, easy to do, but need extra arms.
Agree this is best completed with 2 people and 2 pairs of needle nose pliers. I have done this twice by myself with the two sets of pliers and a block of wood under the staple from below, but this is one of my least favorite tasks on my Firebird.
As you are bending the one side of the staple down, the whole thing slips over to the other side unless somebody is holding the other end.
