Mayfair Maize, the Bamboo Cream of the Pontiac lineup. They should have gotten redlines for that car

I really like MM. I was specifically looking for a 68 'vert in that color about 8 years ago. But nowhere near half that price.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! HEMI is amazing! 1998 Silverado Z71 - Father-daughter project 1968 400 coupe - R/A clone (Blue Pearl) (sold) 1967 326 convertible - Sold 1980 T/A SE Bandit - Sold
The first Firebird that I ever rode in was a MM '68 350 convert. That was in 1967-1968. That was also when I knew I would like to own a Firebird or Camaro.
Don't get me wrong, I have a Buick GS 455 convertible project car that was originally Bamboo Cream from the factory. Out of the 4 cars I own it is also the one I'm most likely to sell. When it gets time to select paint for it, I'm not sure I can go BC. Just too hard to sell. You can do some things like redline tires and the GS rocker panel moldings have a nice red accent to them. It came with body moldings, so I will have a set of those which gives you that little stripe of black rubber along the side. But all of this is to reduce the overwhelming amount of BC/MM you get on the side panels...
FWIW, the first car I ever tried to buy was a '67 Mayfair Maize 326 coupe.

My friend drove a 2hrs to see that car, he's got a GTO, his brother was interested and liked the car, but for some reason when they looked at the inside of trunk they both agreed something wasn't done correctly in the back end. His brother owns a 69 Bird and said the car was very nice, but thought the price a little steep. He claimed that the price was set without much wiggle room, which would surprise me, He didn't think the car had rare pedigree besides the 400 being matching. He thought the car was 15,000 to much.????? What should a reasonable price be for that car.????
Forget to say that the color is what his brother liked that had the 2 of them go look at it. My friend told his brother ( who knows all. Lol ) that if he is that serious in the car, to pay a expert whatever the cost to go through the car and either give a thumbs up or down on restoration and tag codes matching. Regardless that would be money well spent. At least thats what i would do in case like that with any car.
A correct price is what a willing seler and a willing buyer are able to agree upon....third party can have opinions...but doesn't matter....just my humble opinion , for whatever its worth.
