I am looking for some help or any info that can be provided on my 1968 firebird. I have attached a couple pictures in this post with my VIN breakdown along with what I believe is the vin stamp on the engine. it is alson stamped YN so it is the right year and size engine for my car but I do not think the engine is matching numbers. any help on figuring this out would be great or is anyone can provide and history on my car. Also how much does it effect the car value if not number matching motor? Thank you!! Tom Wheeley
Given that it is a 350, not a huge impact in my opinion on price. There should also be another 7 digit code on the block as well as a date code. YN was used from 65-74 on 326, 350, and 400 engines.

that is what I thought. 2 then the 8 is the year then there is supposed to be a letter for manufacture plant followed by 6 digit vin but can not read the letter on a 6th digit
