I'll apologies up front. Normally I'd open my FGF books but I 'm at work without them...
Can someone provide me the rocker panel measurements so I can ensure a square installation?
My 69 appears to have been hit at some point and is rusting out all over the front end. Therefore, I am replacing everything from the front cowl to the trunk pan (belly-side). Cowl, shoulders, complete rockers, firewall, floor pan, and trunk pan. I don't want to use the vehicle to take measurements since I don't think it's true.
So... This restoration became a ground up endeavor. This poor car has been hit from all sides and requires [censored] near the entire body. Thankfully my son is a body tech and understands car metal. I will eventually replace the entire door frame, quarter panel frame, and inner / outer rockers in one assembly (see pic) and then the full quarters. Unfortunately, I bought all the sheet metal individually due to the supplier shipping the pieces to their warehouse saving me substantial freight costs. I will be replacing the frame rails and moving forward after the trunk pan. This is going to be a lot of work...
Oh.. I have the book. Thought you had a cheat sheet or something special. I tend to use other peoples work as a starting point. There's usually some lessons learned in there.
Has anyone built a FB dolly that includes the rocker to floor pan pinch weld mount point? I'm going to build a body cart but I'd really like for it to allow for an entire body assembly.
I'm really digging this body cart. Trying to determine those rocker pinch weld mount locations is proving difficult. Anyone have a lead on the vertical dimensions from the datum line? (Ie... Bottom of the floor pan and quarter, door sub assembly pinch weld)
