My Quadrajet on my 350 H.O.(7029268) just keeps giving me headache's.. All rebuilt and keeps acting up at times of running rich and have tried every trick in the book to fix. Was wondering if anyone has had any luck with rebuild's out there from summitt or other sights..If i have to go with different number carb i dont care... Just want to get it running
Toss the carb and put EFI on and never look back. You will never have to deal with all the headaches of a carburetor like when driving when it's 30 degrees out or 100 degrees out. Just turn the key and drive.
I did the rebuild.. as i have done a'lot rebuilds of them since the 1980's. and other's for garages in town here... This one just has a mind of its own , like maybe the casting is leaking from old age when it gets warmed up... Then this time around the screw atop of the pump check ball stripped out... I tapped it out last night and applied epoxy to new cap screw to go in its place. But now im really worried it's not gonna be any better when i put it back on as all was fine with it on tear down... And about the adding fuel injection i rather not.. As i like to keep it a carb and i really dont have the cash to add fuel injection..
