I have a 68 convertible. When the tob is down it is proteced in the trunck by a piece of material(Black vinyl). Did the original well have some sought of either cardboard or other type of cover pertruding into the trunck that proteced the top? If so, what was that called and does anyone know where to get a repro of it? Thanks,Lee
It's called the 'well liner'. Epay and most of the repop shops have them. They are not very expensive, but very time consuming to install if the top is still in.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. You Guys are Great!!! Thanks to you and Dave for the input. Just so I am clear while my "fabric" well liner is pretty standard thir are the cardboard originals that are still out their in peproduction quality? But as you note...are a chore to install. Do I have that correct?
My 67 has an insulation pad that is part of the liner. It's in bad shape. I've not seen another car with it or seen it in any of the catalogs. Does anybody else have that?
Just checked mine and I have exactly the same material. Its about a 1/4 inch thick and has the same insulation. I'm sure my top is not original but maybe the well boot is. Looks like another mystery.
