Protecting your privacy matters to First Generation Firebird. This page explains, in plain language, what information this site collects, why, and what your choices are. It covers FirstGenFirebird.org, including our Forums and the Online Car Show Registry.

## Browsing This Site

You can read this site without telling us who you are. Like nearly every website, our server keeps routine logs (visitor IP address, browser type, pages requested) that we use for security and to see which parts of the site people enjoy. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.

Our site is protected and accelerated by Cloudflare, which processes visitor traffic (including IP addresses) on our behalf to block attacks and speed up page loads.

## Cookies, Ads, and the Consent Banner

This site shows advertisements through Google AdSense, which helps pay the hosting bills. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads. We also use visitor statistics tools to count traffic.

The consent banner you see on your first visit (and the Manage Consent button at the bottom of every page) is how you control this: you can accept, deny, or fine-tune these cookies at any time. Functional cookies needed to make the site work are always on; everything else is your choice.

## The Forums

Our Forums use cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. When you post a message, your IP address is recorded with it; this discourages abusive behavior and is visible to forum moderators. Anything you post in a public forum — including your username and whatever you write — is public. Please post accordingly, and do not share private details (yours or anyone else’s) in public posts.

## The Online Car Show Registry

If you register a car in the Online Car Show, here is exactly what we keep and why:

– Your name and email address — to create your account and send the handful of emails the show needs (account activation, password resets). We do not send marketing email, and we never sell or share your address.
– Your password — stored only in encrypted (hashed) form. Nobody here can read it, which is also why we can only reset it, never tell you what it was.
– Your car’s details and photos — displayed publicly; that is the point of the show. Your VIN, if provided, is masked on public pages.
– Your general location (as entered with your car) — displayed with your entry.
– Voting records — when you vote, we log the vote with your IP address and browser information solely to keep the voting honest (one vote per car per day). These logs are not published.

To see, correct, or delete the information in your Car Show account, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will take care of it.

## Forms and Email

When you use our contact or suggestion forms, what you type (plus your name and email if you include them) is sent to us by email so we can read and answer it. We use it for nothing else.

## Backups

Like any careful website, we keep routine backups of the site and its databases, including copies stored off-server. Backups exist so a hardware failure cannot erase the community’s work; they are not used for anything else.

## Children

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account here. Children under 18 (or the age set by local law) should ask a parent before sending personal information to any website, including this one.

## What We Do Not Do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not run mailing lists for third parties. We do not link our routine visitor logs to your identity.
