However, why is it that there are fewer Firebirds produced than Camaros, supposedly better engineered and considered a step up from Camaros, but Camaros with similar equipment seem to go for much higher prices than nicely restored Birds?
Is it my imagination?
1967 Firebird 400 Convertible - White with Bright Blue Interior - Power windows, top and steering.
Hokie, you use the same expression I do regarding the Camaro/FB paradigm. For sure. Chevy dudes outnumber us, makes for higher bidding! It wasn't until Smokey and the Bandit that the TA and Birds were on top- so those who want the late 70s vintage want the TRANS AMS!!!!!!! Us First Gen guys are the also rans! LOL!
1969 Firebird 350 Coupe, Rust free Texas body, formerly brown, now a TA clone with quality spoiler, latching hood and TA wheel; 1969 GTO Convertible Expresso Brown/Parchment(currently painted red). Both numbers matching. My first love was a Cameo White 67 326 Coupe, bought back in 1983, at the age of 17, for $1,200. Been hooked since on PONTIAC! Working on a 67 400 ragtop for customization-Gulf Turquoise/Parchment/400/4 spd! My winter project!
I may have borrowed that phrase from you. However, it is absolutely true. Its funny, I don't remember a big delta in price between these cars back in the late 1970s. If anything the Firebirds may have been a little higher because of the TA craze back then.
