About Our Website and Author
We’ve been helping the First Generation Firebird community connecting and sharing information since 1996. If you’re restoring, preserving or just driving an old First Generation Firebird from 1967, 1968, and 1969, you’ll find information useful from a wide amount of resources.

I bought my 1968 Pontiac Firebird when I was 15 in 1985 for $2850 using money I had saved from my paper route delivering the Omaha World Herald in Millard, Nebraska. I had bought it from a guy who worked at a golf course in Omaha. It had been originally bought by a guy in a bordering town in Iowa.
While looking for information for my Firebird, I started collecting information from the web and any source I could find. Back then, there was not much of an internet or information published on it. American Online, AOL, started allowing personal web pages so I started publishing the information I collected.
A couple years later, I learned how to set up a mailing list server using my Macintosh Classic and LetterRip software. This gave life to Firebird-L, a mailing list for all things First Generation Firebird. We had the best members who went out of their way and walked people through their projects utilizing a digital mailing List.
I hate to think how many thousands of hours I spent gathering information, converting to digital media, and learning from the experts who had their way of sharing their knowledge: Glen, John, Gary, Joe, Tom, Vikki, Jim, Bob, Terry, Bjorn, Stan, Brett, Rick, Steve, and so many more over the years. I always managed to find different ways to connect with people using the web site, mailing list, Forums, Car Show, Registry, and we even had an online store. You could buy FGF Merchandise such as embroidered hats and shirts, mouse pad, and an Annual Calendar.
I recently looked through the old Firebird-L Online Show entries, I had flash backs to the some of the heated threads which popped up from time to time. We were blessed by the self governing approach everyone took when someone would step out of line. Looking through the names of the old subscribers litterly brought a huge smile to my face thinking of the time when Firebird-L and even the Forums ruled all things FGF.
I truly appreciate everyone who has made FGF a place to share information and make friends along the way. I have been blessed by your support and hope to meet each on of you at some point in time. I want to see each of your Firebirds as I am sure they are as amazing as I have imagined.
