Fuel Tank Filler Location – Firebird. The filler pipe for the 18.5 gallon fuel tank is centrally located above the rear bumper for easy access. An anti-surge, vented fuel tank cap (same design as used on Pontiac station wagons) is used on all Firebirds. Exclusive “Firebird” emblem decorates the fuel filler door. |
Fuel Tank Filler Location – All, except Firebird. The fuel filler opening for all models (except Station Wagons) is completely concealed behind a door at the center of the rear bumper. Not only is this location convenient, but it provides added protection against paint damage. The fuel filler door also serves as a license plate holder. The fuel filler location for Station Wagons is again located at the rear of the left rear fender. |
Trunk Compartment – All, except Firebird. The spare tire in Catalina, Executive, Bonneville and Grand Prix is securely mounted at the forward center of the trunk to provide a generous amount of storage space. Tempest, Tempest Custom, Le Mans and GTO spare tires are again mounted flat on the right side of the trunk floor. |
