2-speed Powerglide to 3-Speed Turbo Hydra-Matic 400
Short answer: Yes — going to a Turbo 400 (or 200-4R) requires a different transmission crossmember; only a Turbo 350 bolts in. A 200-4R will live behind a 455 on the street in good stock form, but for racing/abuse it needs to be built up ($$$).
