Dealer Order / Trim Tag: Created when the dealer ordered the car. Fisher Body’s trim tag defines the basics affecting the bare shell (model, color, trim, glass, major power options); its date code is the month/week the shell was assembled — the finished car could roll off Final Assembly a week or more later.
Chassis Broadcast Sheet: Build instructions for the chassis — engine, trans, axle, plus belts, pulleys, hoses, brakes, steering, suspension, radiator. Sometimes left on top of the fuel tank; very rare to find.
Body Broadcast Sheet: Build instructions for trim/final — console, radio, seats, emblems, wiring, options. Often tucked in the rear-seat springs, under carpet, or in the bucket seats. Lets you document a car’s essentials on the spot.
Billing History: Tracks the car and its costs from plant to dealer — key codes, engine unit number, options, drivetrain, dealer codes, and the invoice date (closer to the true finish date than the trim tag). Originally free from PMD; now provided for a fee by Pontiac Historic Services (Jim Mattison).
