Dual Port Advance for 1968
Short answer: The 1968 dual-port unit is actually a combined advance/retard device for early emissions (paired with the redesigned 1968 heads). It isn’t strictly necessary — owners complained of popping in the exhaust from the retard function, and dealers frequently just disconnected the retard side.
