Fuel Guage Sending Unit Sock
Short answer: The fuel-gauge “sock” (filter) is a simple slip fit — it slides over the end of the pickup tube and has a built-in ring at the open end. The old one’s retaining ring comes off easily, and installation is just slipping the new sock on.
