Mirror Types for 1968
Short answer: No — “bullet” mirrors were not used on any 1968 Pontiac. The 1968 choices were manual or remote adjustable chrome mirrors: round early in the year, switching to rectangular around December (for both manual and remote).
A mirror with no control knob is a first clue it is not factory — owners commonly swapped in more modern or stylish mirrors. The only first-gen Firebird to use bullet-style mirrors was the 1969, and only in very late production (the long 1969 model run started showing some 1970 features).
