Powerglide (Automatic Transmission) for 1967
Short answer: The Powerglide is a very good, reliable transmission worth rebuilding — its only real drawback is having just two forward gears. Its first-gear ratio is numerically lower (a compromise so it doesn’t have to wind the engine hard at the 1-2 shift); the final drive is 1:1, same as a Turbo. It’s a drivability issue more than a reliability one.
Unless the car is a special model or you’re a purist, most people prefer a TH350/400 for the extra gear — both when driving and at resale.
