Rally Stripes and “Sprint Stripes”
Short answer: There was no separate “Sprint” stripe for Firebirds. The 1967–68 stripe was the Rally Stripe, available on any model except the 326/350 H.O. (which got H.O. stripes as standard). The “Sprint stripes” name is a misnomer — it spread from a photo in Michael Lamm’s The Fabulous Firebird and from the Tempest/LeMans Sprints carrying them as standard, which led suppliers to call them “Sprint Firebird stripes.”
