Shroud Fit

Short answer: A fan rubbing the bottom of the shroud (with extra gap on top) usually means the front subframe/radiator-support bushings have shifted the sheet metal — or the shroud isn’t seated. First confirm the clips holding the shroud to the radiator are fully seated and the shroud isn’t hung up on the lower radiator hose or the petcock.

Also check the transmission mount and crossmember. Sometimes simply taking it apart and reassembling (re-seating everything) gains back clearance.
