Speedo Cable Mystery for 1968

Short answer: This one is an open research question. It’s claimed (per Jim Mattison) that the 1968 Ram Air used a unique speedo cable, but no factory documentation has surfaced — the parts book only shows that automatics used a special cable. Also unresolved: which Firebirds used the two-piece speedo cable, and exactly what the optional speedo-gear adaptor (sales code 591) was for. If you have documentation, the site welcomes contributions.
