STANDARD BODY FEATURES – ALL SERIES

 
 

Pontiac, the undisputed leader in styling, comfort and performance, continues to challenge the imagination in 1968. Heading up the long list of exciting, new body features are dramatically styled exteriors and interiors all-new, sports-car design new wheelbases new, wider Wide-Tracks a host of all-new safety features.

 

Further, important refinements in body construction, soundproofing and insulation contribute significantly to Pontiac’s famed “hushed-ride” concept. And, when you consider the advantages of Unisteel Body by Fisher – you can readily understand why Pontiac continues to be the undisputed leader in 1968.

 

The sleek, low, sports-like silhouette of Firebird is accented by a long, 40.4-inch front overhang and a relatively short, 40.3-inch rear projection. Wheelbase of this personal sports-styled car is 108.1 inches, while overall length measures 188.8 inches.

Firebird

All-new and excitingly different – Tempest, Tempest Custom, Le Mans and GTO Coupes and Convertibles display a striking sports-car profile for 1968. these body styles boast a new, shorter wheelbase of 112 inches and an overall length of 200.7 inches. And, track at front and rear has been widened to a full 60 inches.

GTO

Individuality is the key factor for the Tempest, Tempest Custom and Le Mans 4-Door Models with their longer wheelbase of 116 inches and overall length of 204.7 inches. Tempest Custom Station Wagon and Tempest Safari also have a wheelbase of 116 inches. However, their overall length is 211.0 inches. All models sport the new wider Wide-Track of 60 inches at front and rear.

Le Mans

Featuring traditional Pontiac quality, skill and daring throughout, the 1968 Catalinas and Grand Prixs present a new, longer, lower appearance from front to rear. Catalina’s overall length is 215.5 inches, while Grand Prix’s is 216.3 inches. Both series feature full Wide-Track stance of 63 inches at front and 64 inches at rear, while the wheelbase measures 121 inches.

Grand Prix

The sophistocated exterior appearance of Executive and Bonneville will once again command the admiration and respect of the entire industry. All models, except Station Wagons, feature an overall length of 223.5 inches and an exceptionally long wheelbase of 124 inches. Station Wagons have an over-all length of 217.8 inches and a wheelbase of 121 inches.
