An enhanced reproduction of the original Pontiac Sales Manual used in 1968 showrooms which described all the equipment that was available on the Firebird. This album has become a rare and valuable resource.
1968 Pontiac Sales Manual
STANDARD BODY FEATURES
Upper-level Ventilation System – Firebird and Grand Prix. This system provides draft-free circulation of air with all windows closed. Special air outlets, located at either end of the instrument panel, permit quiet circulation of air, without the corresponding
wind and road noise present with an open window. The system also permits removal of the door vent windows for a “picture-window” effect. (Refer to page A-8 for a full description of the Firebird ventilation system, and page K-4 for application on Grand Prix.)
Crank-operated Door Vent Window Control – Tempest, Tempest Custom, Le Mans, Tempest Safari and GTO. An all-new, crank operated, door vent window control replaces the lever-type control common to the above series in 1967. This new control provides easier operation and adjustment of the door vent window.
Shatter-proof Safety Glass – Tempest Custom, Le Mans and GTO Convertible rear windows. This special safety glass is a new feature for these convertibles in 1968. The glass will not discolor or warp, and can be scraped or washed when the need arises.
Concealed Head Lamps. These specially styled lamps, standard equipment on Grand Prix, are now available as an extra-cost option on GTO for 1968. When not in use, the head lamps are completely concealed by special grille doors. A vacuum-operated control activates the doors when the head lamps are turned on. (See page K-4 for Grand Prix application and page 26 in the Accessory Catalog for GTO application.)
