Fan Hits Shroud

Short answer: When the fan and shroud are the right sizes but you have zero clearance at the bottom and too much at the top, the engine is sitting too low — almost always worn/collapsed motor mounts (the water pump isn’t the cause).

Also check, as they can let the engine sit 1–2″ low: the front subframe-to-body bushings, the subframe-to-core-support bushings, and the transmission mount — and whether any replacements are the correct height.
