Based on your description of the hood portion of the latching mechanisms..the angled hole in the hood is correct for 67 only. Straight hole is 68-69. They require different latches to function properly..with not modifications. Current repro hoods fit 67-69, but require the 68-69 latch due to the "straight" hole in the new hood.
