I am replacing just about every piece of metal on this car, Dash to rear panel, New Quarters, Fenders, full floor pan, Full trunk pan, Rear panel (can't find reproduction one for 69) New Fenders, Hood, Wheelhouses, Inner rockers Firewall , Cowl, All Convertible bracing door shells and frame rails. I've already put 15 grand in it. The welding is starting now as all the parts are in.
I'm not doing it myself, I hired a guy who races a 68, has another 68, a 67 and a 65 Bonneville,
Before he cut the car apart he welded square tube pipe all over the car and working on certain areas at a time, I've seen other cars he's done and they look great, He really pay attention to detail.
I'm putting pictures on a web site that I'm making to can track the progress there www.DJZak.net, He races one of his firebirds a 68 and sometimes he's out of time racing so there is a lull in the progress.
I can send you some of the pics I got so far.
