1. There's a trim piece that fits right over the front edge of that front hold-down. It has a 'cut-away' section in it for the rear view mirror.
2. There are metal spring clips that 'snap' into the holes. They always get ruined when you pull that piece off. I think Ames has them. I've been in a hurry and bought plastic clips from the dealership that you can get by with. Either way it's slightly difficult to get them to snap in. If those holes are not there on your new roof then you can use the metal retainer piece as a template to drill new holes.
