Welcome! You see some good stuff from these people too. You really have to research each and every buy separately to get what you need. It's getting so every vendor is like that now. They all offer, 'The Good', 'The Bad' and it can get 'Ugly' when you buy what you haven't researched. Terry(69firebirdman) posted the link to your auction last week. What would be even more helpful is a link to the auction you bought the parts from. That way we can see how they advertised it....
This should prolly be in the "buyer Beware" forum, but I stared here by mistake. Anyway, after the listing ended, they (The Parts Place) chaged the ad to "private" so you couldn't see the actual ad. Link to ad- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230205161190&rd=1
Note is says, "It will work with a hardtop or convertible, standard or deluxe interior. You must remove your old non-power window regulator and replace them with these factory style power window regulators. They use all factory hardware. New wire harness and new chrome switch are included with this kit. Now you can have factory power windows in your car. These kits are available from us at The Parts Place. We give you all new motors (4) and regulators (4). Nothing is used in these kits. Why spend $1000 plus for used when you can get new."
These switches are junk, the harness is junk, the instructions are minimal, and the ad is an outright lie. "New chrome switch" does not imply plastic when "factory hardware" is stated. I'll run the ad over and over until it sells just to keep someone else from getting ripped off.
By the way, a newer Firebird (late 90's) power window regulator is about $50 on ebay. I'm gonna put a kit together and make it work with the metal switches.
