I am very close to finishing my restoration of my 68 400 convt to original specs and I’m putting on the finishing touches now. The old plastic white washer fluid bottle is brittle and faded and I want to get a new one (it appears to be the original bottle but ??). I have read conflicting reports of what color the bottle is supposed to be, some say a black bottle was original, some say white, does anyone out there know?
On a side note, could it be that the first gen Firebirds are finally getting some respect? I saw a 350 1968 Firebird coupe in the Movie Matrix Reloaded in the highway chase scene (Morpheous fell from the semi onto its hood) and I saw a 68 coupe in a recent Taco Bell commercial. Also, it appears that the values have skyrocketed over the last year or so, right now on Ebay, there is a real nice 350 convt approaching 20 G's. I think that the values on this site should be updated as there is no way you are getting into a 400 original mint convertible for 14 g's anymore. I think if I were going to sell mine now (which I'm definitely not--perish the thought) I would not let it go for a penny under 22. I still can't figure out the huge difference between Camaro values and Firebird Values, when I took my beautiful big chrome bumper off my bird for painting, it kinda looked like a Camaro, I couldn't wait to get the bumper back on again!
