Did you check out the location on the axle that I show on this web page? I assume the 69 has stamping similar to the 68. http://www.geocities.com/jims68fb/AxleCode.html
The stamping is very faint and hard to see. If the axle is old, rusty, and dirty it's real tough to see.Jim
