I know a few of you have installed a 200-4R in your First Gen. I intend to do the same on my '67 and would like to use the factory shifter. But before sending the console-mounted shift arm out for re-chroming, I thought I'd better make sure it will work with the new tranny.
Will it? Is the shift gate housing too deep? Will the linkage also line up, or will I have to find another way to connect the shifter to the tranny.
We used to have a good archives on this subject, but I'll be darned if I can find it now.
