I used the same steering arms and left the tie rods undisturbed. There was a definite difference with the new spindles. I could see excessive toe in and the car drove funny, which was confirmed by the alignment shop. I think the steering arm mounts aren't at exactly the same location in space as with the other spindles. It wouldn't take much to affect the toe.
