There is always the possibility of a head shot. No matter how bullet-proof you make yourself, the big guns still call the shots.

That's why I focused on growing my business for 20 years; I was able to diversify my client base and not be dependent upon one market segment. When I committed myself to one client, I gave up my safety net in exchange for a very healthy income.

This is life; rules don't apply in the ways one would expect. It used to be that if you did your job to the best of your ability and succeeded at everything that was tasked to you, then you'd collect your pay and it would be the same old routine until you decided to move on. Not any more.
