We have always enjoyed camping and have set up the tents on vacations in most of the 50 states (57 according to one Presidential candidate. ) Just cannot get interested in getting something metal to sleep in even though we are in retirement years. There is something about the "roughing it" that still holds onto us.
We started by loading up the '68 Bird's trunk and back seat in 1971 (pic below). Through the 80's, 90's and '00s, GM conversion vans have better held all the stuff and family. This past Tuesday, we were up in the Colorado Rockies with the Prix (to save gas dollars). The tent in the '71 picture and the one in the '08 picture is the same. Many in-between years had bigger family tents but now that it's just the two of us again, the old Sears Hillary is just right.
