Hey Gabe, the key is good prep before hand, and just before painting, go over it one last time with a wax and grease remover.
On the heads where the exhaust ports are, and on the center heat crossover on the intake manifold, save them for last, and just give them enough paint to cover, and light coats. The thinner it is in these areas, the less problem you'll have with the paint burning off, (as it will eventually no matter what) and it will last longer.
Did you get it in the spray can or the brush on in the quart? Either way, just take your time, pay attention to the details, and it will look great! Just like a Pontiac Motor should!
