I recently installed the rebuilt & sleeved original calipers and was getting ready to install the rebuilt master cylinder on my '67 manual disc brake car. It should have been done before, but when the button on the hold off valve was pressed - it is frozen. Clamping it in a vise & exerting a fair amount of pressure did nothing to free it up. So, I assume it is toast and probably rusted too badly to rebuild. Do any of you have a good source for this item or a rebuild kit if it's practical to do so?
Also, after looking in the FAQ Section, it seems as though this valve really isn't all that necessary - is that true? If so, can I just install the valve in the system and use it in an unoperable state?
