I did the original install and was careful about getting it engaged with the pump correctly. Someone broke into the place the car was stored and stole parts off the engine, so I ended up moving it to another shop where the owner wanted to pull the engine just to make sure no other damage was done to it. I'm wondering if they made sure it was engaged properly when it got reinstalled.
