Interestingly enough, we had to do the same to one our inner fenders yesterday. We have a 68 vert. It wasn’t an aftermarket but may have been for a coupe or Camaro. We cut about 2” off. You’ll want to line up your brackets and eyeball the amount you need to clear. We cut ours about ¼” more than needed using a cut off wheel.
