thanks to the Unions, Ford , Chrysler and GM are just about out of businness now...if it werent for Unions, they would be ok.... not saying that unions are evil, they did have their usefulness , but long ago, now they have gotten so much out of the auto industry that its killing the hand that feeds them....
Bjorn, the American automotive industry is in trouble for a lot of reasons, you just can't blame Unions. Big business is to blame as well, along with corporate greed. Free trade... yea right. I could go on, but I need to get some work done on winterizing vehicles.
I wouldn't have the job I do if it wasn't for the Teamsters. I make an honest days pay for an honest days work, and I pay dues for that privilege. If organized labor wasn't a part of what I do, corporate management would get away with murder. Unions are still needed to keep business in check, and they fight for a wage and benefits that the rank & file can live on, and stay healthy.
Yes there are some aspects of organized labor that need adjustment. Business and labor need to be more flexible. And that needs to get written into contracts. I think both parties need to develop solutions for a global economy as well.
Hey all, lets drop all the balderdash and ballyhoo and get back to the matters at hand, namely Firebirds. I pledge I won't say another word about politics. Anyone else? Done.
