I would like some 50's (60's?) retro decor in a rec room. I think it would be fun to have a black/white checkered floor with the 50's diner look and a milkshake bar (for more than just milkshakes). The furniture would have to be comfortable and I wouldn't want sharp edges on anything. I could see a grill table or shelf and a taillight couch in there. I don't think I would want this kind of furniture in my living room or office though. I can see how a car shop could have some racing chairs. Hmmm, might be a problem there if employees decide to race their office chairs around...lol.

Bjorn, I thought about becoming an architect in my teens. I looked a little bit into it. I can see your point. I have a wide variety of tastes from the old to the new. One of the biggest problems I have is making decisions on what I want because I like alot of things...lol.
