The one betwinner just landed matches what I have seen as the original cap. That's not saying that they didn't use multiple types like that have on many '68 parts.

That single ear vented cap matches mine, a perfect 400 point POCI gold award '68 RA here in the Chicago area, and the picture in the '68 Sales Manual that Geoff has on this site: http://www.oakmediacreations.com/firebird/1968/sales_manual/Q-9.html
