Dynamat is only for noise abosorbsion like the old fashioned heavy asphalt pads our cars came with.
These days there are lots of high tech products from spray or brush on coatings to specialty companies that make pre-cut floor pads for our Firebirds that are both absorb sound and heat.
I put on 3 coats of a product called VB-1X from Cascade Audio. I saw somebody use it on their Pro-Street GTO. Besides abosorbing sound (it is also used for speaker enclosures) it puts a permanent coating on the top of the floors and they ain't ever going to rust again.
Then I saw pre-cut pads from Quiet Ride in Hemmings Muscle Machines. They block both heat and noise. www.quietride.com
Then I have seen others purchase the sheet aluminum backed jute pads from home improvement places and then cover their entire floor with that. I did a truck cab that way and now that I know better - I'm getting the Quiet Ride kit for my 'Bird.
