I just removed the subframe and all components from my 69 firebird and was preparing it to re-paint. I noticed the front side hole for the lower control arm bolt on one side has went from round to an oval shape. I am thinking that will create play in that control arm. My question is can/should this be repaired or should I be looking for a new subframe? Second question as to the best coating for the subframe. In reading the forums many suggest POR15 and others just chassis paint. Is it just personal preference?
