Don't know if anybody has tried it, but I used some Krylon Fusion specifically made for plastics and it has held up great so far, not on my hinge covers mind you but for a 5 dollar rattle can it may be worth a shot, if they have it in white of course.
To use a cliche, "been there, done that!". If nothing can penetrate that plastic, it won't stick.
