I used to have a cheap plastic cupholder that clipped onto the door at the window. Most coffee cups fit into it. I used it with a couple vehicles.

The only problem occured when I got hit from the side. Having the old '75 Ventura smashed in was bad enough but having a cup of hot coffee blasted across me was a special treat.
