All 8 ragtops have been accounted for. Very unlikely that this is one of the eight. There are probably 15-20 very well done clones out there, 25-30 that are excellent driver clones, and another 100 or so that are just quickie clones with repro parts. So there's a 99.99% chance he's pulling your leg. Not that this is in ANY way documenting a real 69 T/A, but it sounds like you've spoken to the guy. Forget the VIN for now, or looking for certain specific items. Just look for the simple things. The paint code on the trim tag should be 50 (white), and it must have a D80 (rear wing) on the tag. But I'm sure the owner won't let you look under the hood.
