Not sure about interchangeability, but I do know you will have a yellow airbag or SRS light screaming at you on the dash if the seats have the side airbag connectors disconnected. This may disable the complete system as well, not sure how pontiac srs module handles one or more airbags being disable. There is also a passenger occupancy sensor in right seat that detects weight.

Not a good idea to swap out or even try to reupholster in my opinion. Safety first!
